What We Do
How does More Than Hope Foundation plan to help these individuals?
In order to really make a difference in someone’s life, you have to help the whole person. More Than Hope Foundation plans to help people improve all aspects of their life so that they can become productive members of society. It will focus on their financial, physical, and mental needs.
Financial–More Than Hope Foundation will provide people with jobs. The organization will operate several small businesses in order to give people real world experience in their area of expertise or interest. The businesses will be open to the public and all profits will be put directly back into the organization to further its reach. All positions in the organization will be held by someone in need. At the point in which someone is able to obtain employment outside of the organization, they will move on, opening up an opportunity for us to help someone else.
What small businesses will More Than Hope Foundation be operating?
The first business will be a cleaning business. This was chosen for the ease of entry, size of the market, low-cost of entry, and the skill level needed of workers. When finances allow, we will be opening an all hours child care facility. This facility will offer child care at the level expected by any other facility, but it will offer it 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There will be a curriculum followed throughout the day that ensures that even if you work in the evenings, your child will receive the same level of preparedness as a child in a conventional daycare. We are also considering home repair and maintenance, auto care, and accounting services.
Physical–More Than Hope Foundation plans to be able to provide housing to those who don’t have it and will provide health insurance to all of its program participants and their families. It will also provide child care for its participants so that they don’t have to worry about where their children are while they are at work. It will also have a clothes closet of used, donated clothing and other household items for those participants that need them.
Mental–More Than Hope Foundation will provide many social services to the participants, including counseling, parenting classes, resume assistance, tuition assistance, money management, job training, nutrition classes, and others.
